According to the results of the first competitive day of the World Practical Shooting Championship, the Russian national team is leading in 24 exercises.
Champion of Russia in practical pistol shooting Aleksey Pichugin, performing in his new class of semi-automatic carbine (open class), is leading in the exercise ‘Cape Town’. Pichugin struck seven targets for just 11.44 seconds.
Performing in the same class, Sports Master Mikhail Ushakov, is leading in one of the most difficult exercises – ‘Rhinoceros’, under the conditions of which for the shortest time it is necessary to strike 34 targets located at a distance of 10 to 25 metres. Ushakov completed the exercise for 47.17 seconds, striking all the targets.
In the semi-automatic carbine class (standard class) in the exercise ‘Bay Milford the most points is scored by the representative of Sweden Roland Dalmont. He struck 10 targets for 29.72 seconds.
"Despite the weather conditions on the first competition day, sportsmen are showing very good results! This is facilitated not only by the individual skills of participants, but also by the high level of organisation of the competitions and preparation of the shooting galleries inside the Park ‘Patriot’. We are grateful for this to our Russian friends!" said the chief judge of the competition Ola Dalbek, who represents the Swedish Practical Shooting Federation.
