Hand-to-hand combat competitions will be included in competitions for marines, paratroopers and scouts at the Army international games 2020. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Pavel Popov, at a meeting of the organizing Committee for the preparation of the Games.
"The competition program includes elements of hand-to-hand combat. These are competitions "Army Scout Masters", "Seaborne Assault", "Airborne Platoon" and "Polar Star", - said the Deputy head of the military department.
Pavel Popov also said that changes are waiting for one of the most beloved by the audience competition "Tank biathlon".
"In the tank biathlon, the number of fire tasks will increase. The value of shooting accuracy will prevail over the speed of tanks, and there will be more targets in the competition, " the Deputy Defence Minister said.
The "Aviadarts" competition in the category of fighter aircraft includes the element "maneuverable air combat at medium altitude as part of a pair".
In addition, the competitions "Masters Of Armored Vehicles" and "Maintenance Batallion"will be combined. In the "Military Rally" it is planned to increase the length of the route.
"This year, the competition among mountain divisions in winter conditions "Sayan March" will be held from 14 to 17 April 2020. The provisions of the competition include another special task - march in a mountainous area, which by analogy with the ski stage race "Tour de Ski" will include the results of the previous competition days," — said the Deputy head of the military department, adding that this competition plan to participate teams of Iran, Laos, Angola, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Palestine, the Congo and Russia.
