New corvette “Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov” to be laid down for the Pacific Fleet at the Amur Shipbuilding Plant
On July 22 a solemn laying down ceremony of the corvette “Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov” (project 20380) will take place in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. It will be attended by representatives of the Fleet Command.
This will be the third such corvette to be built here for the Pacific Fleet.
The corvette of project 20380 has a displacement of 1 800 tons, it is over 100 metres long and can accelerates up to 27 knots. Its maximum range is 4 000 miles. The crew of the ship consists of 99 men.
The corvette aims to counter enemy surface and underwater ships as well as to cover marines in the course of combat operations.
The armament of the corvette comprises antiship missile complex “Uran”, air defence system “Redut” and artillery complexes. It has also modern radars, electronic and ASW equipment. The air group of the ship consists of a Ka-27PL helicopter.
