Airborne command-and-staff exercise in Crimea
In accordance to the plan of combat training of the Russian Airborne troops, large-scale exercise with three Airborne formations is held in Crimea.
Units of the Novorossiysk Airborne (mountain) division, Kamyshin and Ulan-Ude separate Airborne assault brigades, and part of hardware and forces of the Pacific Fleet and 4th Air Force and Air Defence army of the Southern military district are participating in the exercise. The exercise is held under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Airborne troops Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov.
Three formations have been alerted and partly projected to Crimea with armament and hardware for the first time.
In total, more than 2,500 servicemen are taking part in the exercise. About 600 pieces of combat hardware are involved.
