Unit of International Mine Action Centre of the Russian Armed Forces returns to permanent location from Syria

On December 12, unit of the International Mine Action Centre of the Russian Armed Forces returns to permanent location from Syria.

Leadership of the Russian Defence Ministry and engineer troops, representatives of the Yunarmiya movement, veterans, and relatives met the engineers.

Specialists of the International Mine Action Centre conducted humanitarian operation in liberated Deir ez-Zor.

In course of humanitarian operation, the Russian engineers of the Centre have cleared more than 1,200 ha of the land, 250 km of roads, more than 1,800 social buildings and facilities, and defused over 44,000 explosive devices.

On December 11, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Armed Forces, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, ordered the withdrawal of troops.
