Search and emergency rescue service of the Russian Navy being equipped with modern underwater vehicles
The unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) Marlin-350 successfully passed state test held in the Black Sea zone. The vehicle meets all demands made by the Russian Navy. This was stated by Russian Navy search and emergency rescue service Ι rank captain Damir Shaikhutdinov.
The maximum allowed depth for the vehicle operation is about 350 m.
As Damir Shaikhutdinov said this vehicle is capable to be operated by the search and emergency rescue service ship crews.
The UUV Marlin -350 is capable to be used for providing search operations, examination of dangerous objects without involving divers and so on.
Using such UUV allows to provide visual control over underwater activities or to deliver equipment and instruments.
“The main advantages of the vehicles are the ease of operation, small size and light weight which allow loading it aboard any ship,” Damir Shaikhutdinov said.
