Chief of the Main Directorate for International Military Cooperation had a meeting with journalists
Today Chief of the Main Department for the International Military Cooperation of the Russian Defence Ministry Sergei Koshelev took part in the military journalist press club session and spoke about the IV spoke about preparation for the IV Moscow Conference on International Security, which will be held on 16-17 April.
Chief of the Main Directorate informed the analysts about participation of the Defence Ministers of Greece and Serbia in the Conference.
“Representatives from Asia, Defence Ministers of Pakistan and Iran will visit the Conference. The Deputy Security Council Chief of Afghanistan will speak during the Conference. Defence Ministers of Asia Pacific Region will also visit us. Visit of the Chinese Defence Minister is very important for us,” added Sergei Koshelev.
As Sergei Koshelev stressed, the mentioned Ministers will not simply visit the Conference, but will also speak during it. Speeches of the Ministers of Defence of Greece, Serbia, South Africa, China, Mongolia, the Philippines, Belarus and Kazakhstan are expected to be heard. Additionally, representatives of Latin America on the level of Ministers of Defence are expected.
As Sergei Koshelev informed further, one of the topics of the IV International Security Conference will be the threat of the “Islamic State” terrorists.
The Chief of the Main Directorate for International Military Cooperation stressed that the peculiarity of the upcoming conference’s discussion will be the fact that high-ranking officers of the Russian Armed Forces will provide their point of view.
He stated that the Chief of the Main Directorate for Intelligence of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Colonel-General Igor Sergun and the Chief of the Main Directorate Operations of the General Staff Lieutenant-General Andrei Kartapolov will speak at the conference.
