Russia considers Myanmar to be a reliable partner in providing security in Southeast Asia and looks forward to the improvement of cooperation. This was stated by the First Deputy Chief of the Main International Cooperation Directorate of the Russian Defence Ministry Major General Alexander Kshimovsky at the meeting with the delegation from Myanmar at the “Army-2015” forum.
He thanked the guests from Myanmar for participation at the first such event and mentioned that the cooperation between the both countries has a complex character.
Alexander Kshimovsky mentioned that Russia appreciated the attention, which was paid by Myanmar to the development of contact in the military field.
In his turn, the Chief of the Main Staff of the Land Forces of Myanmar Lieutenant General Chjo Shwei stated that he was glad to have the opportunity to come at the “Army-2015” forum and to familiarize himself with the Russian military hardware.
“The relationships of the Armed Forces of Russian and Myanmar are developing and are constantly improving. Your country is a close and good friend for us and I hope that our cooperation will only become stronger,” stated Chjo Shwei.
