Russian Defence Minister met Chief of the Kyrgyz General Staff
Today the Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu met Chief of the Kyrgyz General Staff Colonel Zhanybek Kaparov.
In the course of the talks, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu claimed that Russia made every effort for implementation of re-equipment of the Kyrgyz Armed Forces in order to ensure their capability to resist threats coming from the Afghan direction.
The Minister of Defence emphasized that Moscow “fully accomplishes all its obligations concerning deliveries of armaments and military hardware, strengthening of the Russian military base and the air grouping as well as preparation of specialists of the Kyrgyz Armed Forces in the Russian military educational institutions”.
He expressed hope that it would have a positive effect on resistance to those threats that existed that day.
General of the Army Sergei Shoigu expressed his confidence that the Kyrgyz military department registered appearance of the “Islamic State” (terrorist organization prohibitied in Russia) units in Afghanistan.
He said that joint efforts would be able to create a protective system against those threats.
In his turn, the Chief of the Kyrgyz General Staff reminded that the cooperation with the Russian Defence Ministry had always been the priority for the Kyrgyz military community.
“That is paid much attention by the Head of the state. That is why I hope that the cooperation will be gradually developed,” said Colonel Zhanybek Kaparov.
