Defence Ministries of Russia and Myanmar signed an agreement of military cooperation
Today the Russian Deputy Defence Minister Anatoly Antonov and the Deputy Defence Minister of the Rear Admiral Myint Swe of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar have signed an agreement of military cooperation between both military departments in Moscow.
At the signing ceremony, Anatoly Antonov mentioned that within the last three years after the visit of the Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu to Myanmar, the military relationships between both countries had been intensified.
In his turn, Deputy Minister of Defence Rear-Admiral Myint Swe noted that both countries had long-standing relationships.
He emphasized that Myanmar saw great future of cooperation with Russian in the military naval sphere.
The signing of this Agreement established a solid legal framework for relationships between Russia and Myanmar in the military field, it includes exchange of information on international security and counterterrorism, development of relationships in the field of military medicine, history, topography, culture and recreation of servicemen and members of their families, exchange of experience in the field of peacekeeping as well as interaction during search-and-rescue operations at sea.
