Head of the Military Department General of the Army Sergei Shoigu arrived in Minsk where he will participate in the session of the Council of the CSTO Defence Ministers.
The Ministers of the Defence of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan will discuss issues related to the development of forces and means of system of collective security, as well as the improvement of the legal base of the Organization
12 questions included in agenda of the session of the Council of the CSTO Defence Ministers.
They have to consider the documents prepared in the development of agreements on mutual ensuring safety of the classified information within the CSTO and the training of the military personnel for the member states of the Organization, the establishment of a new herldic symbol, the emblem and insignia of formations of forces and means of system of collective security.
The Minister of Defence of Belarus Andrei Ravkov will lead the meeting, because republic is presiding in the CSTO since October.
The Collective Security Treaty (CST) signed on 15 may 1992 in Tashkent. Ten years later, during the session in Moscow, on 14 may 2002, the collective security Council, adopted a decision on transformation mechanisms and structures of cooperation of member states of the CST in the international regional organization the CSTO giving it appropriate status.
