More than 3 thousand servicemen of Russia and Belarus are taking part in the joint logistics exercise
On August21, in the territory of the Western military district (WMD), forces and means of technical and logistical support of the Armed Forces of Belarus and the logistical support of the Armed Forces of Russia began a joint special exercise.
"This exercise is completing a complex of operational and combat training measures of military command and control bodies, formations and military units of the Russian Army Logistics," said the Deputy Minister of Defence of Russia General of the Army Dmitry Bulgakov, who had arrived in St. Petersburg to guide the exercise.
The deputy head of the military department also said that at the range of the Defence Ministry’s Military Academy named after General of the Army A.V. Khrulyov in the Luga region, industrial enterprises demonstrated modern and promising samples of logistical technical equipment, some of which will be tested in the course of the special exercise and the Zapad-2017 forthcoming joint strategic exercise.
General of the Army Dmitry Bulgakov recalled that since August 21 the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are conducting a complex of special exercises on the types of comprehensive supply of troops. They are attended by about 3 thousand servicemen and involve about 350 units of military and special hardware. In parallel with the manoeuvres of logistical forces and means, the Troops of Radiological, Chemical and Biological Defence, military medics, engineers and signal men are conducting their exercises.
