Russian Defence Minister General of Army Sergei Shoigu to discuss with his counterparts Central Asia security and Joint CIS Air Defense System
The Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu and his CIS counterparts will discuss situation on the southern CIS boarders and its influence on Central Asia security. The Council of Defence Ministers headed by the Russian Defence Minister is to held board session in Dushanbe on October 12.
Military delegations from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan will discuss more than 20 issues on defence cooperation. It is planned to take decision on development of the Joint CIS Air Defense System, establishment of the international Army Games Association, cooperation in engineering sphere and among survey services of the CIS armed forces.
Besides, a number of bilateral meeting among CIS defence ministers will take place to consider military technical cooperation as well as defence cooperation plans for 2018.
The CIS defence ministers will also sum up results and agree on joint events in the next year including celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
