XXI Plenum of the U.S.-Russia Joint Commission on POW/MIAs finished in Moscow
Today, the XXI Plenum of the U.S.-Russia Joint Commission on POW/MIAs (USRJC) finished in Moscow.
The Russian and American delegations are headed by retired Colonel General Valery Vostrotin and retired Air Force General Robert H. Foglesong respectively. The sides discussed cooperation in the search for POW and MIA of the World War II, war on the Korean peninsula (1950-1953), Vietnam War, Cold War, local conflicts in Afghanistan (1979-1989). The plenum also summed up results of cooperation in 2017 including implementation of decisions taken at Washington’s session in May 2016.
Retired Air Force General Robert H. Foglesong expressed his gratitude to the Russian counterparts for welcoming. He highly assessed results of the Plenum. Both parties noted the importance of regular meetings and consultations. It was agreed that the XXII Plenum is to be held in Washington in 2018.
US delegation visited the Patriot Park, where they got familiarized with the Aerospace Forces cluster and exposition devoted to Russian military operation in Syria.
