International Army Games 2018 first preliminaries kick off in Southern MD
The International Army Games 2018 first preliminaries have kicked off in Southern Military District.
Commander of Southern MD Colonel General Alexander Dvornikov assigned a mission to organize competitions in order to identify best crews and units.
This year, the troops of the District will take part in 26 contests including the Tank Biathlon, Suvorov Attack, Aviadarts, Guardian of Order, and Road Patrol.
The first preliminaries are to be held at the facilities of military bases and units as well as on the territory of 18 all-arms training grounds located in Astrakhan, Rostov and Volgograd regions, Stavropol and Krasnodar krais, Adygea, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Crimea and North Ossetia-Alania republics, as well as at training grounds of the Russian military bases abroad in Abkhazia, Armenia and South Ossetia.
Besides, the Caspian Flotilla and Black Sea Fleet will hold competitions in the Caspian and Black Sea waters.
In total, the first preliminaries of the International Army Games 2018 involve more than 2,500 crews.
