Briefing by Russian Centre for Reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria (January 19, 2018)
Peaceful settlement of the conflict is underway on the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic.
The ceasefire compliance is being monitored within the implementation of the Memorandum on the de-escalation zones in the Syrian Arab Republic.
Over the last 24 hours, some cases of ceasefire violations have been registered by the Russian-Iranian-Turkish Joint Coordination Centre in the province of Idlib.
Generally, situation in the de-escalation zones is assessed as stable.
As a result of work of the Russian Centre for Reconciliation jointly with Syrian state authorities and Homs provincial administrations, the settlement of Dahiraj, Homs province.
In order to improve humanitarian situation, the Centre for reconciliation of opposing sides jointly with Syrian provincial administrations continues providing assistance for the regions where the needs are most pressing.
Civilians of Tarin, Homs province, received more than 2 tons of food and medical supplies. In total, 32 Syrians including 4 children received medical aid in the settlements above.
Citizens of Hatlah, Deir ez-Zor province, received drinking water.
The Russian Centre for reconciliation continues taking part in the meetings of the Syrian provincial National Reconciliation Committees, actively helping in addressing the humanitarian situation and creating favorable environment so that refugees can return back to their homes.
Over the last 24 hours, 47 people have returned home in the provinces of Damascus (39), and Homs (8).
