Combat readiness inspection in South Siberia involves about 5,000 troops
About five thousand servicemen are involved in a unannounced combat readiness inspection of formations and military units stationed in Kuzbass and Altai. Units of two motorised rifle formations, artillery and logistic support, were alerted.
In course of the inspection, the integrated working group of the Central Military District Staff is to assess the level of preparedness of the command and operational bodies, control system, skills of squads, crews and teams, as well as the state of armaments and military hardware.
The Central Military District is deployed in the territories of three Federal Districts and 29 Subjects of the Russian Federation. The District structure includes a number of objects abroad: the 201st military base in Tajikistan, unified military base in Kyrgyzstan, as well as subunits in the territory of Kazakhstan.
