Russian and Syrian Chiefs of Engineer Troops discuss prospects for bilateral cooperation
General Malik Asi Muhammad, the Syrian Chief of Engineer Troops, has visited the International Mine Action Centre of the RF Armed Forces in the city of Nakhabino, Moscow region, where he learnt about training process, material base and infrastructure.
General Malik Asi Muhammad and Lieutenant General Yuri Stavitsky, the Chief of Russian Engineer Troops, discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation on engineering support.
General Malik Asi Muhammad thanked Russian specialists for training Syrian colleagues on the base of the International Mine Action Centre in the city of Homs, Syria. More than 1,000 engineers underwent training last year.
"We have agreed to continue bilateral cooperation, and invited the Syrian delegation to participate in the III Moscow International Conference on Mine-Clearance in May," Yury Stavitsky said.
