Ka-27 helicopters of Pacific Fleet Naval Aviation complete decking on moving ship
The Pacific Fleet Naval Aviation's helicopter squadron exercised taking-off and deck landing on the rescue vessel (RV) Alaghez in the Avacha Bay water area, Kamchatka.
The Ka-27PL and Ka-27PS helicopters of a mixed naval air regiment practiced improving elements of deck landing on the ship underway. Naval pilots also trained their skills in choosing the optimal approach course, direction finding and touch-down accuracy.
Also, the helicopter crews worked out their cooperation with the flight control group aboard the RV Alaghez.
The drill involved three deck helicopters, which carried out about 15 take-offs and deck landings on the Alaghez. The vessel-carrier also refueled the helicopters.
