Defence Ministers of Russia and Turkey discussed stabilization of the situation in Syria and issues of military-technical cooperation
Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu held a meeting with the Minister of National Defence of Turkey Hulusi Akar and the Director of the National Intelligence Organization of the Turkish Republic Hakan Fidan, who arrived on a working visit to Moscow.
The Heads of the Military Departments continued a substantive dialogue on the situation in Syria, launched a week ago at a bilateral meeting in Moscow, during which the Russian side sent proposals to the Turkish colleagues on the settlement of the situation in the north-west of Syria.
Also during the meeting topical issues on ensuring regional security and further development of military-technical cooperation were discussed.
The previous meeting of the two ministers took place on August 17. At that time, the issues of an early settlement of the humanitarian situation in Syria, including the repatriation of refugees, as well as bilateral cooperation between the defence departments of Russia and Turkey were discussed.
