CIS defence ministers develop measures to counter international terrorism
Defence ministers of the CIS have developed measures to counter international terrorism, and defined fields for development joint military systems during the CIS Defence Ministers Council in Tashkent. General of the Army Sergei Shoigu briefed reporters on results of the session.
"We defined fields for development of joint military systems: air defence, radar identification, communication, control and assessment of adiation, chemical and biological situation", he said.
According to Russian Defence Minister, members of the Council signed agreements in the field of military aviation, topographic, meteorological and information support of the armed forces.
"The session confirmed that our cooperation has stable prospects for development. We plan over 50 various joint activities", the Russian Defence Minister noted.
He stressed that this would ensure dynamics of military cooperation in the format of defence ministers coucil on a wide range of fields.
"Results show that tasks defined by out presidents in Concept of military cooperation are gradually implemented," the Russian Defence Minister concluded.
