Northern Fleet's frigate Admiral Gorshkov trains to fire Kalibr missiles in Barents Sea
As part of the planned combat training activities in new training year, the frigate Admiral Gorshkov, successfully fired the Kalibr sea-launched cruise missile. The frigate was commissioned by the Navy in 2018.
The combat exercise was performed in surface position in one of the training zones of the Northern Fleet in the Barents Sea. The missile targeted the Chizha training ground in Arkhangelsk region. The target was placed at a distance of more than 700 kilometers.
According to the objective monitoring data, the shooting was carried out with predetermined accuracy and with confirmation of all flight and technical parameters.
During this planned sea voyage, the frigate conducted training in anti-submarine and anti-aircraft defence, and damage control training.
