Pacific Fleet diesel submarines practice a duel with torpedo fire in Sea of Japan
Diesel submarines of the Primorsky flotilla of the Pacific Fleet conducted a planned exercise in the Sea of Japan, during which they played out a dueling situation.
As part of an antisubmarine tactical exercise, two submarines of the Pacific Fleet practiced practical skills in searching, attacking and counterattacking a mock enemy submarine with bilateral use of weapons and hydroacoustic countermeasures.
One of the diesel boats secretly entered the designated area, discovered the mock enemy submarine and attacked it with dummy torpedoes.
The exercise at sea was provided by major ASW Admiral Panteleyev and the vessels of the auxiliary fleet.
