Frigate admiral Gorhskov, Northern Fleet, crosses the Equator for the first time
Today, the frigate Admiral Gorshkov celebrates her first-ever crossing of the Equator.
A detachment of ships and support vessels of the Northern Fleet, led by the frigate Admiral Gorshkov, fulfilling the tasks of a long-range cruise continues to move to South America. Next week, the seamen will make a business call to a country on the west coast of the continent.
The frigate sailed off for the first long-distance march in her history on February 26. The ship has covered more than 24,500 nautical miles, completed several defensive exercises and made business calls at Djibouti and the island of Sri Lanka to replenish its stocks and provide rest for the crew.
