1,000 Russian servicemen arrive in Mongolia for Selenga 2019 international exercise
Three trains with military personnel and military equipment of the Eastern Military District arrived in Mongolia to participate in Selenga 2019 joint Russian-Mongolian exercise.
A military band took part in the solemn meeting dedicated to the meeting of participants in international exercise.
About 1,000 servicemen from EMD will take part in the exercise, about 300 units of military equipment such as: 152 mm Akatsiya self-propelled howitzers, Grad multiple launch rocket systems, Shilka anti-aircraft self-propelled guns, modern T-72B3 tanks, BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, as well as Mi-24 and Mi-8AMTSh helicopters will be involved.
Last year, Selenga 2018 international exercise was held in Russia at the Burduny training ground (Republic of Buryatia). More than 1,000 servicemen of EMD's motorized rifle compound and the Armed Forces of Mongolia took part in it, about 300 pieces of military and special equipment from both sides were involved.
The opening ceremony of Selenga 2019 exercise will take place on August 15.
