Russian group to inspect an envisaged area in Greece
In accordance with the Vienna Document 2011 on Confidence- and Security-Building Measures, Russian inspectors will visit an envisaged region in Germany on October 1-4, 2019. This was announced by the Head of the National Centre for Nuclear Risk Reduction Sergei Ryzhkov.
The inspection is conducted in order to determine the scale of military activity within the envisaged area which is subject to notification or to identify the absence of the military activity which is subject to notification. The envisaged area will cover some 11 sq km.
During the event, Russian inspectors will visit training areas and grounds, briefing on military activity, formations or units located within the specified area and Parmenion 2019 land forces exercise.
