Russian military delegation discusses cooperation in science and education with colleagues from Angola
The Russian military delegation, led by the Head of the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Colonel General Vladimir Zarudnitsky completed a working trip to Angola.
During meetings with the leadership of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic, as well as with the command of the Military Academy of the General Staff, security issues in the region were discussed, as well as the expansion of cooperation in the field of science and education, the training of senior officers for law enforcement agencies.
The sides expressed interest in bilateral contacts between research and teaching staff, the joint introduction of new education technologies and in information exchange.
Russian servicemen laid wreaths at the mausoleum of the first president of Angola, Antonio Agostinho Neto, and honored the memory of those killed in the battle of Kifangondo, during which the forces of the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola, with the support of Soviet and Cuban specialists, defended Luanda from intervention, which allowed November 11, 1975 to declare independence republics.
