Mountain motorized infantry personnel of the SMD in Karachay-Cherkessia with the support of artillery stopped the offensive of the mock enemy
Motorized rifle and artillery units of the mountain motorized rifle formation of the Southern Military District (SMD), stationed in Karachay-Cherkessia, repelled the advance of the superior forces of the mock enemy during a planned tactical exercise at the Kobu-Bashi range.
The gunners of the formation fired 152-mm self-propelled howitzers "Acacia", multiple-lunch rocket system "Grad" and mortars "Sani" hit targets that mimic the attacking infantry and artillery of the enemy.
The event was held at a training ground equipped with training minefields, wire fences, various obstacles and modern simulation tools that allowed to create an environment as close to combat as possible.
The main goals of such events are to improve the command skills of officers and non-commissioned officers, as well as the coherence of motorized rifle and artillery units.
About 300 military personnel were involved in the exercise, and more than 100 pieces of military equipment were involved, including modern armored Kamaz "Mustang" vehicles and MT-LBV multi-purpose tractors.
