More than 500 WMD engineers went to the training grounds in Moscow and Yaroslavl regions in preparation for Army International Games-2020

More than 500 soldiers of engineering units of the guards tank army of the Western Military District went to the training grounds in the Moscow and Yaroslavl regions, within the first selection stages of competitions "Engineering Formula" and "Safe Route" of the Army International Games-2020.

The competition among the engineering-sapper troops with use of heavy motorized bridge TMM-3, combat engineering vehicle IMR-2, trench digging vehicle MDK-3, tracklayer BAT-2, amphibious tracked vehicle PTS-2 and clearance vehicle UR-77 will take place at the training grounds

Military engineers are acting as a support detachment to ensure the unimpeded movement of tank units during the "Safe Route" contest. On an equipped track of about 2 kilometres, it is required to allow the column to pass through obstacles such as a section of a remotely planted minefield, an anti-tank 6 meters wide ditch, a destroyed section of a column track of 50 metres long and a pile of burning logs.

 The "Engineering Formula" contest program includes a relay race where each team perform as part of crews to complete engineering tasks. On each unit of military engineering equipment crews need to overcome one circle of the route where it is required to perform the special task characteristic of this model of military equipment.

In total the qualifying stage will involve more than 120 pieces of military equipment and armament. The crews of the teams that showed the best result will represent their units at the army stage, which will take place in March of this year.
