Joint exercise of anti-terror and NBC protection units of EMD has been conducted in Buryatia
Joint exercise of the anti-terror and the nuclear, biological and chemical protection (NBCP) units of the Eastern Military District (EMD) has been conducted in the Republic of Buryatia. The exercise implied repelling an attack by alleged terrorists on a military unit site by means of mimic toxic substances.
Upon receiving a signal about the attack on the site, the military personnel practiced repelling the attack of the conditional illegal armed group.
The servicemen of the anti-terror unit equipped with individual protection blocked alleged terrorists. By means of an upgraded set of sampling devices (KPO-1M), samples of water, air and soil were taken for research.
The samples were examined by a mobile laboratory (LSBA-1) which is capable of conducting epidemiological analysis of samples in the field.
Once the composition of the conditional toxic substances was determined, the NBCP unit began to decontaminate the area.
