The field training competition "Airborne platoon" started in Pskov
Today, on June 29, the Pskov guards amphibious assault unit held the grand opening of the competition for field training among units of the Airborne troops "Airborne platoon", which is held within the framework of the Army international games-2020".
This year it is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Airborne troops, which will be celebrated on August 2.
The Deputy commander of the Airborne troops, Major General Anatoly Kontsevoy, the command of the Pskov division, veterans, and representatives of the clergy greeted the paratroopers, who represent all the formations and units of Airborne troops. They wished the participants of the "Airborne Platoon" uncompromising struggle and worthy results.
"For Airborne troops, the concept of combat readiness is constant, so here all the formations, educational institutions of the airborne forces, are represented by the strongest teams. The competitions will be conducted on a fair basis in accordance with the established procedure," said the Deputy commander of the airborne forces, Major General Anatoly Kontsevoy.
Already today, after the solemn meeting, the paratroopers went to the first stage. This is an individual biathlon, it will be held at the Zavelichye training ground.
During the week, the paratroopers will have to land, an individual race on combat vehicles, and a pursuit race. The competition will end with a relay race with shooting on the firing lines. The contest will be determined the winning team, which will represent airborne troops on the international stage of the competition "Airborne Platoon" in August, which will take place in Pskov.
