An interactive section dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the formation of the Airborne Troops has opened on the official website of the Russian Ministry of Defence

On the eve of the 90th anniversary of the formation of the Airborne Troops, a new multimedia section dedicated to this significant date has been opened on the Internet portal of the Russian Ministry of Defence.

 Visitors to the Internet portal will be able to familiarize themselves with unique historical documents from the history of the Airborne Forces, provided by the Central Archives of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and telling about the participation of the "Winged Infantry” in the battles against the Nazi invaders at the initial stage of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. , as well as a comprehensive video about the history, development and present day of the Airborne Troops.

A special place in the section is occupied by the Regulations on the Main Directorate of the Airborne Forces of the Red Army of June 1941, with amendments by Stalin, which determined the main tasks and structure of the new directorate.

Also presented copies of archival documents with a list of airborne corps, a combat log of the Airborne Troops of the Red Army for 1941-1944, combat characteristics for the commander of the 49th Guards Rifle Kherson Guards Division of Colonel Vasily Margelov, later the legendary commander of the Airborne Troops - "Paratrooper No. 1" and other documents from the history of the Airborne Troops.
 

In addition, the section that opens contains materials dedicated to all 19 commanders of the Airborne Troops, the "forge of airborne troops" - the Ryazan Guards Higher Airborne Command School named after General of the Army Margelov, pre-university educational organizations of the Airborne Troops, and also festive events in honor of the 90th anniversary of the formation of the Airborne Troops, planned to be held in Moscow.

Besides the Russian version, English, French and Spanish versions have been launched.
