Military climbers of Russia and Uzbekistan will overcome a rocky terrain with a height of 150 meters as part of the Elbrus Ring
In the Elbrus gorge of Terskol, within the framework of the international stage of the Elbrus Ring 2020 competition, military personnel of Russia and Uzbekistan will overcome a rocky terrain with a height of 150 meters.
The military personnel of the high-mountain units organize overcoming the rocky area of the terrain using mountaineering equipment.
All obstacles will be overcome with standard weapons and in full equipment, the weight of which is at least 30 kg.
After completing a special mission, the personnel in battle formation will move to the place of overnight stay along the route: rock Terskol - Rigel - Terskol pass - glacier of the Dzhikaukinkez plateau - Kalitsky peak - Ice Lake.
Military personnel from Uzbekistan and Russia are taking part in the competition. Russian teams are represented by high-altitude units of the Airborne troops, the Southern and Eastern military districts, and the National Guard.
In total more then 70 people are competing in tasks in highlands.
The organizer of the contest "Elbrus ring" is the department of physical training and sports of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. These competitions have a military-applied orientation and have been held on an international scale since 2016.
The closing ceremony will take place on August 5.
