The President of the Central African Republic visits the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation
On October 6, President of the Central African Republic Faustin-Archange Touadéra visited the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for the first time.
The acting head of the Russian higher military educational institution, Lieutenant General Oleg Makarevich, acquainted the high-ranking guest with the educational and material base, as well as with the process of training foreign servicemen at a special faculty.
Faustin-Archange Touadéra expressed interest in training senior officers of the Central African Republic's defence department at the academy.
The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere and confirmed the mutual disposition to further build up comprehensive cooperation in the field of science and education in order to strengthen the defence capability of the national armed forces.
Currently, servicemen from 35 friendly states are being trained at General Staff's Military Academy of the Russian Federation.
For several decades, the special faculty of the academy trained more than 4,000 representatives of foreign states, who were later appointed to senior government and military positions in their countries.
