The head of the Main Directorate of Research Activities of the Russian Ministry of Defence reported on the results of the work of the Commission on Innovative Projects in 2020
During the meeting of the Commission of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Defence on innovative projects and technologies based on the results of work in 2020, the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, Major General Andrei Goncharov, reported on the successful tests of innovative developments selected in the interests of the Armed Forces of Russia.
In 2020, the Main Directorate of Research Activities of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, together with the contented military authorities, conducted a number of successful tests and military-technical experiments to assess and confirm the technical and operational characteristics of promising developments carried out by organizations and industrial enterprises on their own initiative.
Another military-technical experiment was first conducted on the basis of the ERA Military Innovative Technopolis with the participation of innovative models of technology and equipment selected by the Commission in the interests of the Navy. The study involved autonomous unmanned underwater vehicles, promising sonar stations, complexes with UAVs as repeaters of control signals and information transmission, presented by organizations and enterprises of Russian industry.
In the course of the experiment, an assessment was made of the possibility of constructing rapidly deployable systems of illumination of the underwater situation in the interests of combating small-sized targets, including autonomous unmanned underwater vehicles of the enemy and underwater saboteurs.
During the Kavkaz 2020 exercise, in the interests of the Airborne Forces at the Kapustin Yar training ground, an innovative development was tested that allows the interaction of military personnel during the battle, as well as special highly maneuverable vehicles that allow tactical groups to be quickly moved.
