The air defence forces on duty of the Northern Fleet conducted an air defence training in the Arctic
Today the anti-aircraft missile regiment duty forces of the air force and air defence army division of the Northern Fleet, stationed on the Novaya Zemlya archipelago, conducted training on air defence in the Arctic.
In the course of the training task, the combat crews of the S-400 anti-aircraft missile system worked out a set of measures for reconnaissance, identification and tracking of targets in the airspace over the Northern Sea Route.
The role of a mock enemy was performed by MiG-31BM aircraft of a separate mixed aviation regiment of the air force and air defence army of the Northern Fleet, operating in a different range of heights.
Such trainings of the air defence forces on duty of the air force and air defence army army of the Northern Fleet are held regularly to maintain a high level of training of combat crews of anti-aircraft missile systems serving to protect the airspace in the Arctic zone.
