About 2 thousand soldiers of motorized riflemen of the Russian military base in Tajikistan, reinforced by armored groups, performed live firing.
Units on vehicles made marches to the areas of the exercise, worked out the deployment of command posts and the provision of stable communication to control subordinate personnel in battle.
At the main stages of the exercise, the motorized infantry worked out the tasks of conducting combat operations in defence and offensive with the execution of shooting from small arms, grenade launchers, armament of BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles and T-72 tanks.
In the course of practicing tactical techniques at night, the servicemen used modern night sights and night vision devices. At the Lyaur training ground, more than 3,000 targets were prepared, conditional command posts, armored vehicles, firepower and enemy manpower.
The 201st military base in Tajikistan is Russia's largest military facility outside its borders. It is located in two cities – Dushanbe and Bokhtar. It consists of motorized rifle, artillery units, air defense, signals, NBC protection troops.
