In the Nizhny Novgorod region, two-way tactical exercise of tank crews of the combined-arms army of the Western Military District starts using aviation
In the Nizhny Novgorod region, on the basis of the Combat Training Centre of the Western Military District, a two-way battalion tactical exercise of a tank regiment of the combined arms army stationed in the Belgorod region started.
During the exercise, the servicemen will practice the march to the position area, where they will begin to prepare for the conduct of the offensive and maneuver defence. Tank battalions will be reinforced with motorized riflemen, rocket-propelled artillery batteries, anti-aircraft missile platoons, reconnaissance and NBCP units, as well as attack helicopters of the Leningrad Army of the Air Force and Air Defence.
A reinforced battalion, leading an offensive with the help of attack UAVs, will capture an advantageous line and ensure the introduction of the second echelon into battle. At the same time, the battalion leading a maneuverable defence, according to the plan of the exercise, will be forced to retreat to restore combat effectiveness with the assistance of evacuation units.
The final stage of the three-month combat training of the personnel of the tank regiment will be a large-scale regimental tactical exercise using army aviation.
In total, about 500 servicemen, over 70 units of military and special equipment, including T-72B3 tanks, BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles, Msta-B towed howitzers, and attack helicopters Mi-24.
