Two naval anti-submarine strike groups of the Pacific Fleet attacked a submarine of a mock enemy in the Sea of Japan during the exercise
Two naval anti-submarine Strike groups (NASG) of the Promorsky Flotilla of the heterogeneous forces of the Pacific Fleet conducted an anti-submarine exercise in the Sea of Japan as part of a control check for the winter training period.
The tactical groups included the corvettes Sovershenny and Gromky, as well as the small anti-submarine ships (SAS) Sovetskaya Gavan and Metel. In Peter the Great Bay, they worked out practical tasks to search for and attack a mock enemy submarine using anti-submarine weapons.
A large diesel submarine of the Pacific Fleet acted as the mock enemy. She carried out covert maneuvering in the area of the exercise.
In cooperation with the Il-38 anti-submarine aircraft of the naval aviation of the fleet, the frigates and the SAS discovered the submarine and attacked it with anti-submarine weapons. Small anti-submarine ships fired a salvo of jet depth charges, and frigates conditionally used a small-sized anti-submarine and anti-torpedo complex Paket against the submarine.
