Baltic Fleet detachment of warships completes the passage of the English Channel as part of a planned long-distance voyage
Today, a detachment of warships (DW) of the Baltic Fleet, consisting of the corvette Stoyky, the tanker Kola, the sea tug Yakov Grebelsky and the floating workshop PM-82, performing the tasks of a long-distance campaign, completed the passage of the Straits of Pas-de-Calais, the English Channel. A detachment of ships of the Baltic Fleet left the Tartous port on April 8 and headed for Baltiysk. The arrival of the warships detachment at the main base of the Baltic Fleet is scheduled for the end of April.
The ships and vessels of the Baltic Fleet perform the tasks of a long-distance campaign for about four months. During this time, the crews of the corvette Stoyky and the tanker Cola visited the Indian Ocean, where they took part in international maneuvers. The crew of the corvette Stoyky worked out several dozen exercises of various directions in the Indian Ocean. The detachment of ships made business calls in the ports of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Sultanate of Oman. The ship's servicemen conducted anti-aircraft and anti-submarine defence maneuvers, and anti-terror groups worked out anti-piracy exercises. While in the Red Sea, a detachment of ships made their first business call at the port of Sudan.
