Army aviation pilots from the Russian airbase in Armenia practicing parachute jumping
Army aviation pilots, pilot-navigators and flight engineers of the Erebuni Russian military airbase in Armenia proceeded to intensive parachute jumping training at Syzran Air Force Academy in Samara region.
In the course of a month the servicemen will perform more than 20 airborne training exercises. Every one of them will accomplish more than 20 parachute jumps including jumps with parachute release delay, low-altitude jumps, day and night, within a group and one by one.
During the theoretical training the pilots will study parachute construction and characteristics. They will also undergo ground training using airborne simulators to practice all basic elements to perform parachute jumps.
The intensive parachute training for helicopter crews that is held once a year will later become a part of “combat survival course”.
