The Air Force to take part in the military parade in Rostov-on-Don for the first time

An intensive training program is underway in the Southern Military District in preparation for the military parade in honor of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

This is the first time when the military parade in Rostov-on-Don will include 37 modern aircraft of the 4th Air and Air Force Command this year.

The Su-24, Su-25, Su-27, Su-34, MiG-29 airplanes and the Mi-8, Mi-26, Mi-28, Mi-35, Ka-52 helicopters will fly in a single formation at the altitude of 150-350 meters.

Military parades with the participation of servicemen and military equipment of the Southern Military District will take place in Rostov-on-Don, Volgograd, Novorossiysk, Vladikavkaz, Astrakhan, Stavropol, Sevastopol and Kerch.

Additionally, a ceremonial parade will take place in 6 Cities of Military Glory – Anapa, Malgobek, Tuapse, Kalach-na-Donu, Nalchik, Taganrog and Krasnodar.

More than 17 thousand servicemen representing the service arms and services of the Russian Armed Forces and other military agencies will conduct a parade march in the cities of the Southern Military District on the 9th of May.

Around 400 units of military and special equipment will participate as part of the mechanized columns. Among them are the latest armored vehicles “Typhoon”, infantry fighting vehicles “BMP-3”, ballistic missile systems “Iskander-M”, multiple rocket launchers “Tornado”, anti-tank missile complexes “Khrizantema”, anti-aircraft artillery systems “Pantsir-S”, and others.

Marching drills of the personnel forming the parade’s companies and battalions is currently underway, while garrison drills for the mechanized columns will begin on April 2.

Moreover, salute squadrons drills has begun in order to improve cohesion of the crews and fireworks units.
