Southern MD Air Force rescuers training
Today the educational training for the search-and-rescue and parachute-assault specialists of the Black Sea Fleet and of the 4th Air Force and Air Defence Command started at the Southern MD base located in Krasnodar Krai. 30 servicemen are involved in the training.
In the course of the training the servicemen are to perform search-and-rescue operations in difficult-to-reach mountain and forest areas operating the Mi-8AMTSh “Terminator”. Servicemen are to rescue crews with injuries after catapult ejections.
The rescuers also develop their skills in landing on confined area, first aid treatment, service and operation of the organic rescue means. In the course of the training they will perform about 70 parachute jumps from altitudes of 200-4000 meters.
The servicemen will also attend parachute packing exercises, including parachutes designed for personnel and military cargo landing, such as brake parachutes, which are used for military aircraft landing.
Search-and-rescue educational training will end on April 11.
