The last group of Russian military personnel who were performing tasks to help Serbia fight a coronavirus infection has arrived in the Moscow region
The Il-76 military transport aircraft of the Aerospace Forces took the last group of military and special equipment of the combined group of the Ministry of Defence of Russia, carrying out tasks to assist in the fight against coronavirus infection in Serbia at the Chkalovsky airfield (Moscow region).
All arriving servicemen passed thermometry and mandatory sanitary and epidemiological measures. Special processing of arriving equipment and aircraft is organized at the airport.
Earlier it was reported that on May 18, four flights to Russia from Serbia will deliver more than 20 military personnel and seven units of special equipment.

On May 18, the 44-day humanitarian operation of the Russian Defence Ministry to assist the Republic of Serbia in fighting the spread of coronavirus infection ended.
As part of a humanitarian operation starting on April 4, 87 Russian military specialists with experience in fighting epidemics caused by dangerous infections, as well as the necessary military equipment and medical equipment were transferred to the Batainitsa airfield by military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
The group consists of experienced specialists-epidemiologists and virologists with equipment that allows detecting pathogens of dangerous infectious diseases in the shortest possible time, as well as medical teams with medical equipment to provide qualified care to infected COVID-19 patients.
Russian military medics were involved in the treatment of patients in more than 30 localities in Serbia, the most affected by coronavirus infection. Eight medical and nursing teams participated in the examination and treatment of 880 COVID-19 infected patients. Russian epidemiologists and virologists conducted an assessment and analysis of the epidemiological situation, gave recommendations on the implementation of anti-epidemic measures in Serbian specialized medical institutions.
Specialists of the Russian NBCP troops of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, together with the Serbian servicemen, carried out a complete disinfection of medical institutions and socially significant objects in more than 40 localities in Serbia. 376 buildings and structures were processed, more than 1 million 685 thousand square meters of internal premises, about 500 thousand square meters of paved roads.
Military personnel who successfully completed tasks to assist the Republic of Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina) in the fight against COVID-19 also returned to their Homeland. In total, Russian specialists in the Republika Srpska carried out a set of disinfection measures in 11 cities at 28 sites, treated about 50 buildings and structures with a total area of more than 200 thousand square meters, as well as about 20 thousand square meters of paved road sections. Russian military medics gave recommendations and assisted in the treatment of patients with COVID-19 in more than 20 medical centers of the Republika Srpska.
