Anti-aircraft gunners and pilots of the Southern Military District destroyed about 100 air targets in the Krasnodar territory and the North Caucasus during the exercise
Anti-aircraft gunners of the 49th combined arms army, together with the crews of the air force and air defense formation of the Southern Military District (SMD), destroyed about 100 air targets on the territory of military ranges in the Krasnodar territory and the North Caucasus during the exercise.
The military personnel performed detection and capture of air targets of a mock enemy, using air defence systems at combat duty stations and successfully repelled a conditional massive missile and air strike (MMAS) of "the enemy", having fulfilled more than 50 different standards.
During the exercise, the crews of combat posts successfully detected and classified targets, and the air defense crews when approaching air targets at a distance of destruction destroyed the aircraft of the mock enemy.
When practicing combat exercises for aviation crews, special attention was paid on reducing the time required for decision-making by the commanders, as well as to the actions of military personnel during a massive missile and air strike.
In total, more than 300 military personnel of the Southern Military District took part in the training, about 50 units of military equipment were involved, including the "Buk-M2", "Tor-M2U", "Strela-10" anti-aircraft missile and gun systems "Tunguska", and ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft mounts.
