The teams participating in the “Airborne platoon” and “Polar star” field training competitions arrived in Pskov and Novorossiysk
The teams from all large units of the Airborne troops arrived in the Pskov and Novosibirsk guard air assault large units to take part in the “Airborne platoon” competition among parachute (air assault) units and in the “Polar star” competition among special forces units of the Airborne troops.
Shortly the crews will receive and prepare for action the BMD-2 and BMD-4M airborne fighting vehicles intended for the competition at the “Strugi Karsniye” training ground of the Airborne troops, and get acquainted with the race track and “Kislovo” landing zone.
The participants of the “Polar star” competition will get acquainted with the unique “Four elements” obstacle course at the “Rayevsky” shooting range in the Novorossiysk region, which will witness the all-army stage of the “Polar star” competition.
While training for the " Airborne Platoon" and "Polar Star", teams will improve the skills of driving airborne fighting vehicles on rough country terrain with passage of various obstacles and practice shooting from the armored personnel carriers weapons systems, grenade launchers and small arms at various targets at the "Zavelichye" training range in the Pskov region and "Rayevsky" training range in the Krasnodar region.
In total, more than 400 airborne troops personnel from all formations and military units of the Airborne troops will take part in both competitions, as well as the 242nd training center (training of junior airborne specialists) and Ryazan Guards Higher Airborne Command School named after Army General V.F. Margelov.
The field training competition among airborne and assault units "Airborne Platoon" will be held from June 29 to July 7 this year, and the field training competition among special-forces units of the Airborne troops "Polar Star" from July 1 to July 11, 2020.
The winners of the contest stages will take part in the "Airborne Platoon" and "Polar Star" international competitions as part of the Army International Games-2020.
Before the training, all equipment will be thoroughly disinfected by the NBC protection units. These actions are held as part of a set of sanitary and epidemiological measures aimed at preventing and eliminating the appearance and spread of infectious diseases.
Military specialists also carry out daily disinfection of the contest participants' places of stay, vehicles intended for transportation of personnel, accommodation facilities.
All participants, command and jury of the contest are under constant supervision of the military medical personnel.
The personnel are provided with all the necessary personal protective equipment (gloves, medical masks and antiseptics), any contact with other military personnel of the formations, civilian personnel and local residents is completely excluded.
