The team of the special purpose unit of the airborne troops from Kubinka near Moscow won the second stage of the all-army competition "Polar Star" near Novorossiysk.
During the second stage of the competition, six groups worked out tasks behind enemy lines. Military personnel in the groups performed parachuting from Mi-8AMTSh helicopters after a cargo with a total weight of over 60 kg, conducted communication sessions with the transmission of combat signals. They secretly passed more than 30 km behind enemy lines, overcame an contaminated area and a water barrier, and provided first aid to the victim.
In the course of overcoming the water barrier, the military personnel in full equipment had to approach the river up to 50 m wide unnoticed and swim to the opposite bank without violating the secrecy of actions with improvised camouflage.
According to the results of the two stages of the competition, the teams of the special forces unit from Kubinka and the Ivanovo guards airborne unit are in the lead.
The all-army stage of the "Polar Star" field training competition is held among the most trained personnel of special forces units of the airborne troops in preparation for the Army international games 2020. The competition will last until July 11.
In total, the competition is attended by about 100 best military personnel of special purpose units of the airborne troops.
