Russian paratroopers had no equal in the "patrol race“ at the "Airborne Platoon" competition
At the field training competition among amphibious units “Airborne Platoon“, held within the framework of the international army games 2020, the results of the race in the orientation of squads, without crews, were summed up.
In the tract “Vashina Gora” Pechorsky district of Pskov region completed the next stage of the competition, in which paratroopers from 11 countries, taking part in the competition, competed in orienteering (patrol race), without crews.
According to the terms of the competition, the team consists of 3 squads of 5 people. The teams took off at 10-minute intervals. To plot the route, teams were given maps 10 minutes before the start. In 180 minutes, teams had to find as many checkpoints as possible marked on the map. Recording of the CP passage was performed using an electronic system. It was necessary to mark the entire squad, the interval between the mark of the first team member and the last should not exceed 120 seconds, in case of violation of this condition, taking the CP was not taken into account. For each full and incomplete minute of exceeding the control time (180 minutes), one point was deducted from the total points scored by the squad. If the team exceeded the control time by more than 30 minutes, the team's result was canceled.
The Russian team took the start of the fourth in a row. Confidently passing the route and all the selected control points, paratroopers from Russia, with a result of 173 points out of 179 possible, set a competition record and took first place. Paratroopers from the People's Republic of China are in second place with a score of 107 points, and the team of the Republic of Belarus is in third place with 60 points.
