The personnel of the Novorossiysk mountain formation of the airborne troops in the framework of the maneuvers "Kavkaz–2020" completed the preparation and loading of equipment into aircraft
Today, at two Armavir airfields, the personnel of the Novorossiysk and airborne assault mountain formations completed preparation and loading of military equipment that will be landed during the active phase of the maneuvers "Kavkaz-2020".
Within four days, the personnel of the unit were moored and loaded into the aircraft of the military transport aviation (VTA) of the Aerospace Forces about 60 units of weapons, military and special equipment. In parallel, the loading of 10 units of equipment of the Tula airborne firmation at the Diaghilev airfield in the Ryazan region and 51 units of equipment of the Kamyshinsky airborne assault Don Cossack unit at the Engels airfield in the Saratov region was completed.
"At the moment, all equipment is moored, prepared for landing and loaded into 57 VTA aircraft that arrived at the Armavir, Engels and Diaghilev loading airfields," said Colonel Kenes Kuzhakhmetov, head of the department of airborne training of the Airborne troops. "In the future, some of the aircraft will be relocated to the Taganrog take – off airfield, from where they will take off on September 25, as well as from the Engels airfield for landing personnel and equipment at the Kapustin Yar training ground."
In parallel, the personnel of the formation will undergo pre-jump training on the simulators of the airborne complex and will lay parachutes for landing.
The maneuvers "Kavkaz-2020" will be held from 21 to 26 September 2020 at the internal ranges of the Southern Military District, as well as in the waters of the Black and Caspian seas.
Military formations from Armenia, Belarus, China, Myanmar and Pakistan are invited to the exercise to practice joint actions as part of groups of troops (forces). Representatives of Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Sri-Lanka plan to participate as observers.
In total, about 80 people are expected to be involved in the maneuvers "Kavkaz-2020" (including formations and units of combat, logistics and technical support, as well as air defence, navy and special forces units (National guard and Ministry of Emergency Situations). At the same time, the maximum number of personnel involved in military units that fall under the Vienna document of 2011 in the exercise, conducted under a single operational command, will be up to 12,900 military personnel. Up to 250 tanks, up to 450 infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers, up to 200 artillery systems and multiple launch rocket systems will be involved in the practical actions of the troops (forces) at the training grounds.
