New stages of Open Water 2019 to make the contest more spectacular
The Open Water 2019 contest held in the framework of the International Army Games will be even more spectacular. This contest is the most numerous in the number of participants and involved engineering equipment among other competitions of the International Army Games 2019.
In 2018, the Open Water international competition, which was always held in the city of Murom in the Oka River, the pontoon units of the People’s Republic of China and the Russian Federation demonstrated their skills.
The competition included six different tasks (exercises): engineering reconnaissance of water barriers, equipment of access to water barriers using the BAT-2 tracklayer, amphibious crossing by PTS-2 floating transporters, ferry crossing by the PP-2005M fleet.
The competition was complicated by a number of additional tasks: the actions of the PMM-2M ferry-bridge vehicles assembling ferries and transporting weapons and military hardware, as well as actions by pontoon bridge replacing interior bay of the platoon ferry on the water barrier.
In 2019, the all-army stage of the competition will be held in June-July, the international stage - in August.
